Plant Information

Iris tectorum is a stately springtime flower and is native to the Himalaya where it can be found growing in large clumps in meadows or on grassy slopes. Semi evergreen strap like foliage and in early Summer spikes carrying pale blue flowers up to 10cm across are produced, though each flower lasts a short time each stem produces several.

Iris tectorum is best grown in a moist soil in full sun to dappled shade, excellent border plant.
