Plant Information

Hebe Red Edge was raised by Graham Hutchins at County Park Nursery in Essex in the 1960’s as a seedling from H. albicans. A rounded shrub with a dense, tidy habit - the leaves are glaucous with a distinct red edge to them, in the Winter months the tips develop a red hue as well. In June and July mauve flowers are produced in short rounded spikes.

Hebe Red Edge is much valued as it is hardy, tolerant of a wide range of conditions and requires no maintenance which makes it excellent garden plant or for use in large plantings, also useful in containers, as a low hedge or at the front of a border.
