Plant Information

Hebe macrocarpa is a distinctive variety with an architectural upright habit. This is a naturally occurring species which is native to the North Island of New Zealand. The leaves are thick and leathery, mid green in colour and contrast with the brown stems. The flowers are produced in racemes up to 15cm in length with pure white flowers, these are produced in November and in milder areas or Winters will continue through the Winter.

Hebe macrocarpa is an architectural variety that can be used to give an evergreen structure to a border, however like most hebe is happy in a large patio container, the flowering period makes it a good subject to be close to a window or door so it can be enjoyed when the rest of the garden is fading into Autumn. May need protection in colder areas.
