- Golden grass
- Excellent in a border or patio pot
Hakonechloa macra Aureola is a beautiful deciduous Japanese grass which forms a compact tuft of arching stems bearing long, striated golden leaves and in late summer arching flower heads. It is a plant which adds movement to the garden as it will sway gently in even the softest of breezes. In the autumn the leaves turn shades of orange before dropping.
Hakonechloa marca Aureola is excellent for the front of a border or in a large container either on its own or as part of a mixed display. If happy will grow to make a large clump. Best grown in full sun to light shade in a moist but well drained soil.
