Crinodendron hookerianum, commonly known as Lantern Tree. A large evergreen shrub originating in Chile with a self branching habit, deep green lance shaped leathery leaves and unusual red hanging lantern-like flowers, spring to early summer.
Crinodendron hookerianum is a large specimen shrub which if planted in the right place will be a real head turner. The unusual flowers are produced prolifically early in the year before many other plants reach their peak. It is important to get it in the right soil and out of cold winds for it to thrive.
