Buddleja davidii Empire Blue, commonly known as Butterfly bush. A large growing and vigorous shrub with an upright habit and arching stems which bear large panicles of scented pale blue flowers in late summer. Nicknamed the butterfly bush for good reason! A very useful fast growing shrub.

Buddleja davidii Empire Blue can be cut back hard in March April to encourage vigorous new growth and to keep the plant in control, for best results remove spent flowers to encourage repeat flowering. RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM)
