Kniphofia caulescens, commonly known as Red Hot Poker – A species that originated in South Africa. It forms a thick woody based stem with large blue grey leaves up to 1m long. Flowers are produced in late summer and are fat, coral-red turning yellow with age and producing a multi coloured spire.
Kniphofia caulescens is best Grown in full sun in a moist well drained soil. Excellent planted in association with autumn flowering grasses. AGM
