Ageratum are sometimes called Floss Flower or Mist Flower, they are flowering annual and perennial plants that are members of the Asteraceae family. They are native to central America, Mexico and parts of the USA.

What is an Ageratum?

Ageratum are frost tender to frost hardy plants that are low growing forming clumps or mounds usually less than 1m tall. They are grown for their masses of fluffy clusters of long lasting summer flowers which can be white, yellow, blue or purple. The flowers will attract bees and other pollinators.

Where to plant Ageratum?

Ageratum like full sun and a moist but well drained soil. They make great patio plants or can be mixed with other plants in garden borders to help create cottage, gravel or courtyard styles.

How to care for Ageratum?

Ageratum are easy plants to look after. Water young and pots grown plants in dry spells. Remove spent flowers to encourage more and give plants a light trim if they are getting too big.
