    Gunnera manicata, Huge architectural plant, Prehistoric appearance, Needs a wet soil and lots of space. Gunnera manicata, also known as a Chilean rhubarb. A robust herbaceous perennial which forms a spreading clump of lobed, rounded, rough textured leaves with spiny stems 1 to 2m across. Tiny red brown flowers are borne in erect panicles to 1m in height. Requires a wet soil to support the lush growth and whilst hardy, the large crowns need protection from frost overwinter. AGM.Gunnera manicata is excellent in a large garden with plenty of water, by a pond or stream. This prehistoric beast is an incredible specimen. The leaves can reach 2m across and are borne on strong spiny stems.

    Delivery

    All plants in our shop are available for delivery and we aim to ship your plant as quickly as we can. On receipt of your order we will send you an order confirmation and reserve your plant on the nursery.

    All orders placed will be dispatched as soon as possible, please allow 3-7 working days for delivery. Please bare in mind delivery can be dependant upon your geographical location and unfortunately we are unable to deliver on weekends.

    All deliveries are made using a next day service to reduce the time that the plants spend in transit. Next day delivery is subject to your delivery postcode. Any orders with an additional surcharge could take 2-5 days to be delivered. When this is the case we will do what we can to ensure your plants are in transit for the least amount of time as possible.

    Every Garden Beauty plant comes carefully packed into its own individual box to ensure it reaches you in optimum condition, if there are any problems please refer to our no quibble policy in the terms and conditions.

    To ensure delivery before a bank holiday weekend, orders must be placed before midnight on Wednesday. This will give us time to process your order and delivery to you on Friday. If Friday is also a bank holiday then the cut off is 24hours earlier. Any orders after this time will be dispatched the following Tuesday and delivered on Wednesday subject to the time of year.

    Easter Weekend delivery

    To ensure delivery in time for the Easter weekend please place all orders through our site before midnight Tuesday 30th March. All orders before this date will be delivered on Thursday 1st April.

    Plant SizePlants for delivery box

    We grow our plants in various sizes in either a 2, 2.5, 3, 5 or a 7.5 litre pot, the top diameter of a 2 litre is 17cm (2.5l is 18cm) and a plant would typically cover the whole top of the pot - the image to the right shows a typical 3 litre helleborus ready for despatch. Please note that plant sizes will vary according to the time of year and the type of plant.

    Looking after Your Plant

    On receipt of your delivery please open the box as soon as possible and remove the plant from the box, if you are not able to plant it immediately please check that the compost is moist and place the plant in a sheltered position. Inside the box you will find a set of planting guidelines, please follow these to ensure success.
