A sport of H. Dazzler discovered in the Netherlands. A mound forming variety which is grown for its white variegated foliage with a green centre which turns vivid pink from November until May, occasional purple flowers are produced but the plants is primarily grown for its unique foliage. Raised by Lowaters Nursery and first sold in 2009. This collection was selected to give a series of summer flowering varieties which were hardy, disease resistant and with clear and contrasting flower colours with inflorescences in excess of 10cm. Blue Elegance forms a rounded bush with glossy mid green leaves and from July untill the first frosts masses of clear blue flowers are carried in dense terminal racemes 10 - 15cm long. A sport of H. Red Edge that was found at Ashwood Nurseries by Mark Walberton. A compact mound forming variety with glaucous rounded leaves with a red edge. In the winter months the new growth develops buttery yellow irregular margins and the tips and young leaves have a pinkish red colouration. In summer white flowers are produced, but the plant is promarily grown for its foliage. Excellent as a border or rockery plant or as a mass groundcover planting. Height 60cm x 1m. Hardy.
Raised by Lowaters Nursery and first introduced for sale in 2005. A very dense multi branched shrub which produces as tidy mound. The leaves are deep glossy green with short internodes, in May and June prolific branched racemes of clear blue flowers are produced - during the peak of flowering the foliage is almost totally covered by flower and the flowers hold their strong colour for a long time without fading. Height 60cm x 75cm. Very trouble free hardy variety which is ideal for low hedges, mass plantings or in patio containers. Compact multi branched shrub which forms a tidy mound pale lime green leaves which are small and narrow. In June and July (for 4weeks) a mass of heliotrope mauve flowers are produced in corymbs at the ends of shoots, these are larger than the species. The plant was discovered as a sport of the species in Wairua in New Zealand hence the name. May need some winter protection in colder areas. Height 1m x 1m.
A sport of H. Wiri Vogue found at Lowaters Nursery and first sold in 2006. The leaves are pale green with irregular creamy white margins and a purple edge to the leaf, the undersides of the new leaves are purple which makes the tips of the shoots purple. The flowers are rounded racemes up to 7cm in length with deep purple flowers in late summer. Height 1m x 1m.
