Hebe Fragrant Jewel

An attractive rounded shrub with deep green, glossy pointed leaves up to 5cm in length, from July untill the first frosts masses of clear mid blue flowers are produced in racemes up to 10cm in length - these carry a light fragrance and is the only scented variety? May need some winter protection but we have a specimen outside which is over 10 years old. Height 60cm x 90cm.

Hebe Garden Beauty® Blue (Cliv)

Raised by Lowaters Nursery and first introduced for sale in 2005. A very dense multi branched shrub which produces as tidy mound. The leaves are deep glossy green with short internodes, in May and June prolific branched racemes of clear blue flowers are produced - during the peak of flowering the foliage is almost totally covered by flower and the flowers hold their strong colour for a long time without fading. Height 60cm x 75cm. Very trouble free hardy variety which is ideal for low hedges, mass plantings or in patio containers. Forms a dense mound with small narrow lance shaped leaves which are an olive green colour, in late may and june masses of clear pink flowers are produced on short rounded racemes up to 3cm long, these continue throughout the summer and into Autumn. Raised by Lowaters Nursery and First introduced for sale in 2005. A compact variety with small very rounded leaves which are a deep green with a red margin, short internodes and pale brown stems. In late may and june terminal racemes of clear purple flowers are carried in profusion - these hold their colour well before fading to a paler shade. Height 65cm x 65cm. A hardy form of speciosa with dark green glossy leaves which are up to 8cm long and 3cm wide, from July until November it flowers freely producing racemes up to 10cm long of magenta flowers which are very striking. Excellent for use in a mixed border or as an individual specimen. Height 1m x 1m.

A sport of H. Oratia Beauty found in Australia and first sold in the UK in 2005. The plant has an upright habit and the leaves are produced in opposite pairs forming a cross up the stem, the leaves have a strong bright golden margin which are very decorative. In late summer pink flowers are produed in rounded racemes up to 5cm long - these are produced in limited numbers and the plant is primarily grown for it's foliage. Height 1.5m x1.5m.

Hebe Golden Fleece

A sport of H. ping. Pagei which was discovered by Mrs Irene Black in Northumberland. The plant was first marketed in the UK in 2006. The plant has a mounding habit and very attractive variegated foliage which is buttery gold with a green stripe in the centre and a purple edge to the leaf, these age to silver and contrast well with the purple stems. In May small rounded racemes of pure white flowers are produced. Height 50cm x 75cm.

A hybrid of H. carnea with long narrow leaves which are matt green, it is grown for its striking flowers which are deep pink and carried upright growing racemes up to 10cm in length from July to November, the flowers fade to white creating a bi colour effect. Height 1.5m x 1.5m. Best grown in a sheltered site as winter frost damage may be seen in colder areas.

syn H. 'Emerald Green'. a compact growing whipcord form with small bright green overlaping leaves. The plant forms a tight mound of glossy green up to 30cm in height with a similar spread and is ideal for use in borders and is often used in mixed containers - best in full sun and a moist but free draining soil.
